As you may have noticed, the “Do It Yourself” wedding cencept is getting more and more popular each
year. But why? After all…it’s your wedding day – why would you want to setup, decorate, and plan all
that stuff? How could it be so popular? It turs out, there are two primary answers. The obvious answer,
is cost. And the not so obvious one – fun! Let’s explore both…
Obviously, cost plays a major role in the decision to DIY on your wedding day. At Country Palms, you

role in your wedding decisions. When you do it yourself, you (or your family/friends) can provide a
great meal for your guests – for about four to five dollars per person on the bargain side, and no more
than thirteen dollars per person on the expensive side. Whether you’re having a simple buffet or an
upscale dinner, you’ll save lots of money! Hiring a professional catering company or restaurant to
provide the dinner is great, but it will generally cost fifteen dollars per person on the low side, and
around fifty to seventy five dollars on the high side. A DIY dinner is a huge savings! Of course, that
same price pattern also applies to many of your other wedding needs – decorations, bar and alcohol,
wedding planning, etc.
The other reason why couples are choosing DIY for many portions of their wedding is…FUN! We have

joking, laughing, talking about all sorts of things – and of course, planning the big day – can be a ton of
